When Jason Dubin, owner of Ambition Custom Homes, designed a new home for his family in Maryland, he envisioned a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living. Jason collaborated with the ActivWall sales team to customize a 60-inch wide by 54-inch high Gas Strut Window, finished in chestnut bronze, to match the home’s other windows. The kitchen, where the window is installed, is a true masterpiece. Positioned above the main sink, the Gas Strut Window offers a breathtaking view of the rear yard and surrounding forest. Every detail in this space is thoughtfully curated, from the 150-year-old reclaimed timbers sourced from Maryland barns to corbels from Baton Rouge, handmade cedar beams, and custom cabinetry.
When open, the window extends to a height of seven feet, providing an unobstructed flow between the indoors and outdoors. To simplify closing, the Dubin family opted for the ActivWall Pull Hook, an available accessory designed for convenience.
Beyond the window, an integrated bar ledge provides space for stool seating or staging food and drinks, making it an ideal addition for hosting gatherings. With a full outdoor kitchen and grill area just outside, the ActivWall Gas Strut Window enhances both functionality and ambiance.
