The Perfect View of Tampa Bay

Gas Strut Window in Tampa Bay

For the owners of this Venetian Island home, bringing in natural light, embracing the scenic views of Tampa Bay, and building an outdoor kitchen area were important factors when planning a renovation.

Sun Bay Builders of St. Petersburg led the project, which also included an update to the front elevation of the transitional-style waterfront home.

Although there is an exterior sliding door in the adjacent dining area, the homeowners chose to install an ActivWall Gas Strut Window over the sink to make it easy to pass items through to the outdoor kitchen area.

The innovative window opens up and out 90 degrees on gas struts to create a serving bar and pass-through window.

The custom-built Gas Strut Window measures 72″ x 40″ and is finished in a white powder coat. A raised sill is used for maximum protection from the sea breezes, and the window is made with impact-resistant glass. ActivWall products are impact tested for safety in hurricane zones.

ActivWall Gas Strut Windows can be closed by pushing from the outside or from the inside with the purchase of the optional Pull Hook. Snap-in or retractable screens are also available for this product from one of our partner companies. Ask your sales rep for details.
