Vineyard Tasting Room

Nestled among the rolling vineyards of Walla Walla, Floating Balance Cellars has created a wine tasting experience designed to immerse guests in the beauty of Washington wine country. Their new tasting room blends modern design with the surrounding landscape, creating a welcoming destination where visitors can relax, connect, and enjoy handcrafted wines while taking in expansive vineyard views.

To bring that vision to life, Floating Balance partnered with Backcountry Containers, an authorized ActivWall Dealer based in Wisconsin, specializing in custom container structures delivered nationwide. The innovative tasting room was constructed from repurposed shipping containers off-site and carefully designed to maximize both functionality and the guest experience.

As part of the project, ActivWall manufactured a custom four-panel Folding Door in a 2L2R configuration, which Backcountry Containers installed before the tasting room made its journey to Washington. The folding door system creates a seamless connection between the indoor tasting space and the outdoor patio area, where pergolas provide shaded seating overlooking the vineyard.

When opened, the 143″ x 90″ Folding Door transforms the tasting room into an inviting indoor-outdoor environment, allowing fresh air, natural light, and scenic vineyard views to become part of the guest experience. Whether visitors are enjoying a guided tasting, relaxing with friends, or taking in the peaceful atmosphere, the operable wall system helps create a flexible hospitality space that feels both open and intimate.

According to Floating Balance Cellars, the winery experience centers around slowing down, enjoying meaningful moments, and connecting with the land and wines that define the region. The tasting room’s modern container design, paired with the Folding Door system, supports that mission by creating a comfortable gathering place that embraces the surrounding landscape rather than separating guests from it.
