Designers for this rooftop pool in Washington, D.C., wanted to provide pool guests with a convenient way to order drinks from the adjacent rooftop bar.
Contractors installed a custom-made ActivWall Gas Strut Window overlooking the pool so guests could enjoy cocktails and beverages without tracking water through the main bar and lounge area.
During operating hours, when bartenders are serving, the window is opened with a gentle push and lifts up and out on sturdy gas struts. When the pool closes for the evening, the window can be pushed from the outside or closed from the inside with the optional ActivWall Pull Hook.
The window measures 45″ wide by 50″ high and is finished in a jet-black powder coat. It features a raised saddle sill, one of six architectural sill options available.
When closed, the window locks securely and provides maximum energy efficiency with a thermally-broken aluminum frame, insulated glass, and durable seals.
