When our clients set out to design a home with flow and functionality, they envisioned a space where the kitchen and patio worked together rather than apart. With help from Babb Custom Homes and Interior Designer Emory Grey, that dream became a reality, beautifully anchored by a 60″ x 48″ ActivWall Gas Strut Window finished in crisp white powder coat.
At the center of this renovation sits a welcoming kitchen designed for real living. A large farmhouse sink faces the outdoors, and just beyond it, the ActivWall Gas Strut Window transforms the space with the simple push. Opening upward in a smooth, awning-style motion, the window creates an instant pass-through bar and floods the kitchen with fresh air and natural light.

Outside, the design is just as thoughtful. Beneath the window, a handcrafted live-edge wood countertop adds warmth and character while offering the perfect spot for barstool seating. The patio’s built-in grill, ambient wood-paneled ceiling, and cozy layout all work together to extend the living space beyond the kitchen. With the Gas Strut Window as the bridge, the two areas now function as one.
